Artist's Statement

Kale Tunnessen is a self-taught artist currently living in Chicago. He describes his work as an impetuous consequence of his undying need to visually represent the feelings and emotions of a particular period of time. An avid art collector being constantly inspired by other visual artists, musicians, and poets, he begins each painting with a sliver of an idea which slowly expands and develops onto the canvas. After beginning to sell his works in the summer of 2009, Kale now has pieces in several corporate and private collections around the world. Spray paints, latex paints, acrylics, newspaper, and random paper collage are a staple in many of his works.
