The art of today must reflect the clash between our advancing technological evolution and our static biological evolution. It must not only reflect the clash of the archaic and the advanced, but it must be the clash. Traditional art practices must confront new media directly. We are not yet robots. In order for New Media to rightfully take its place as the art of this century, it must first become indistinguishable from traditional art practices. This overlap is where we are now. It is where we are at politically, socially and culturally as a species. My work is a direct confrontation between traditional art practices and emerging technologies.
