Bio/Resume

Joshua Abelow received his BFA (Painting) from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1998 and his MFA (Painting) from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2008. Recent residencies include the Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, VT (2010) and the The Banff Center, Alberta, Canada (2009). Recent group exhibitions include: "PAPER! AWESOME!," Baer Ridgway Exhibitions, SF curated by Brion Nuda Rosch, "Portable Caves," Long Island City, NY curated by HKJB, "Exit Light," Reference, Richmond, VA curated by Keith J. Varadi and Michael Kennedy Costa, and "Anti-Anti/Non-Non," Hal Bromm, New York, NY curated by Fran Holstrom. Upcoming group exhibitions include: "Color Me Badd (three person show with Hugh Scott-Douglas and Ted Gahl)," Nudashank, Baltimore, MD, and "The Working Title," Bronx River Art Center, Bronx, NY organized and curated by Kris Chatterson and Vince Contarino.
