Jonathan Peck
My work is primarily comprised of crayons, Styrofoam, paper, and a variety of crafts materials. I like the elementary quality of these materials, but I’m interested in going beyond the elementary, beyond what is expected.
Jonathan Peck studied sculpture at the Kansas City Art Institute, and graduated in 2002 with a BFA. In 2004 he was invited to be an artist-in-residence at the Art Center of South Florida in Miami Beach. In 2007 Jonathan received the prestigious South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship for Visual Art, and was included in the exhibition "New Art: South Florida 2007" at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Miami. In June of 2008 Jonathan attended the Cooper Union School of Art Summer Residency Program and currently maintains his studio in Brooklyn, NY. Jonathan’s work has been featured in several publications including the books “Miami Contemporary Artists” and “The Nude Male: 21st Century Visions”, published by Rizzoli.
