john ros was born in new york city in 1978. his youth was split between the city, long island and the catskill mountains.
in 1996 john moved to binghamton, new york, to attend suny binghamton. he graduated with a bachelor of fine arts in painting in 2000. he moved back to new york city for the summer of 2000, then long island during the fall of the same year.
john returned to binghamton in 2001 and created the artspace, pocket. he remained a part of the binghamton arts community until his departure in january 2006 when he moved to johnson, vermont, to work and maintain a studio at the vermont studio center.
john relocated back to new york city in 2007. he currently lives and works in brooklyn..
