At the heart of this work lies an energetic state of being. My ideas come from a strong sense of inner consciousness combined with a personal commentary on many of the earth's dilemmas whether it be war, consumerism, politics, religion, family or death. With these concepts I further incorporate psychological figurative portraits into abstract color fields of polka dots, paint drips, vintage ephemera, landscapes and numbers.
I was born and raised in Vermont where I received my BFA at Johnson State College and a fellowship to the world renowned Vermont Studio Center. Following my graduation I relocated to NYC where I was an early member of the 14th St. Painters collective and showed my work at the Earl Gallery and 405 Gallery Soho. In addition, my association with NY Arts magazine brought my work to the Venice and Instanbul Biennials.
Currently I am based in Baltimore / NYC where I continue to evolve and share my work.
