Artist's Statement

I THINK PAINT ALLOWS ME TO CONNECT THE REAL WORLD WITH THE MANY ILLUSIONARY WORLDS WHICH VISIT ME ON A REGULAR BASIS. THE REAL WORLD SERVES AS A COMMON GROUND FOR ALL OF US, BUT THE ILLUSIONARY WORLD, WHILE MORE PERSONAL IN ITS NATURE, CAN STILL BE UNDERSTOOD AND ACCEPTED BY OTHERS BECAUSE WE ARE ALL HUMAN AND SHARE COMMON EMOTIONS.
MY CURRENT STYLE, PHOTOINTERPRETATION (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH PHOTOREALISM), ALLOWS ME TO ACCOMPLISH THIS BECAUSE IT
COMBINES ELEMENTS OF BOTH CLASSICAL REALISM AND ABSTRACTION. THE RECOGNIZABLE ELEMENTS FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHS WILL, WHEN
PROPERLY JUXTAPOSED, CREATE A THIRD DIMENSION WHICH CAN BE BOTH MYSTERIOUS (SOMETIMES TERRIFYING) AND REASSURING ALL AT ONCE. THIS, I BELIEVE, IS A WORLD WHICH MAY POSSIBLY COME TO REALITY (FOR BETTER OR WORSE), BUT HAS NOT DONE SO AS YET.
