Jamie Diamond
I work primarily in photography and video, investigating the rituals and codes that regulate photographic behavior. I am interested in challenging photographic preconceptions by exposing the insincerity of the pose, staging personal events for the camera and asking strangers to perform forced intimate moments. I am interested in the performance of the portrait, the pantomimes we as sitter instinctively enact and the spaces within which the performance takes place.
