Artist's Statement

"I think a work that can be infiltrated by the observer kind of appreciates in worth and value straight away."

J.Leron Cooper born Jameel Cooper in the heart of Newark, NJ. His love for the arts has been with him since the early years of his life. Cooper became a veritable arts autodidact--teaching himself design and various other forms of art. His aesthetic consists of bold geometric shapes and sharp lines which allude to his graphic design background. His works reflect his passion is for utilitarian art - art that can be interacted with, and serves a purpose, whether it be specific or multifaceted. In 2007, Cooper developed an arts company, The Ministry Lives as well as a contemporary menswear line, The Ministry (www.theministryonline.com).
The Ministry has not only allowed him to gain invaluable experience, but has also allowed him to connect with a variety of exciting and innovative artists.
What Cooper has accomplished qualifies him as one of the best emerging young artists.
