Artist's Statement
Knives and edge tools are powerful images. We know them in many of their forms from movies, and we use them in the kitchen or in the yard. They are tools usually possessing an agency both utilitarian and dangerous. Mine are inert, flaccid and constrained.
Bio/Resume
Gavin lives and works in New York City and upstate New York where he has a studio in a shipping container in the middle of a field. His first solo show in New York was held at Ramiken Crucible in the fall 2009.
