In 2006, I published my first monograph, Pees On Earth, a travelogue over eight years that reflects a period in my life discovering sexuality, philosophy and boundaries. My new work manipulates dualities such as public and private, world and spiritual, yin and yang, and manifests in works on paper, mixed media installation and sculpture to “break down the bathroom walls.”
Ellen Jong, a native of NYC, was first published as a photographer in 1999 in zing Magazine, an art publication. Her most recognized body of work was published in 2006 as a photographic monograph with powerHouse Books, Pees On Earth. A project covering eight years, Jong reveals the private performances she sought out while urinating on film. Her attention towards social political issues, private/public and self-discovery continue in recent work, which manifest in various media; video and multi-media installation. She has exhibited in group shows with LMCC, White Box, Robert Miller Gallery and at festivals in Denmark, Miami and NYC. Her latest book is a self-published project demonstrating her lawless and ultra feminine charm titled, Getting To Know My Husband's Cock.
