“All this universe is perfused with signs, if it is not composed exclusively of signs".

A sign is something which depends on an object in a way that enables and determines an interpretation, an interpretant, to depend on the object as the sign depends on the object. The interpretant, then, is a further sign of the object, and thus enables and determines still further interpretations, further interpretant signs. Bio/Resume
Elisa Sassera (b.1975, Italy) is an artist who lives and works between NYC, Italy and Istanbul. Using and playing with signs and sign’s language as a subject matter of artistic expression, she works with several media including installations, painting, prints, photographs which are based on the exploration of culture and tradition, myth and philosophy, semiotics and communication.
Elisa Sassera exhibited in a number of group/solo exhibitions between Italy and USA.
