Artist's Statement

I am working on photographs and drawings at the moment.


Deborah Garwood is an interdisciplinary artist born in Camden, NJ, and based in New York. Trained in sculpture and 3-dimensional design, Ms. Garwood’s practice presently centers on photography and drawing. A proud alumna of Franklin Furnace, she has exhibited multimedia in New York and abroad. Her first book of photographs, "Evans Pond: A Long-term Study of a Single Place," was published by Hunter& Co. in June 2009.

Active also as an independent scholar, Ms. Garwood has participated in international conferences on astronomy and the humanities. Her most recent essay, "From Historic Millpond to 21st Century Parkland: Evans Pond, Haddonfield, NJ," was published by The International Journal of the Constructed Environment in 2013.
