Artist's Statement

Courtney Puckett (b. Winter Park, FL) lives and works in Brooklyn, NY She earned a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2002 and an MFA from Hunter College in 2007. She also studied at the Center for Art and Culture in Aix-en-Provence, France, the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland, and the University of New Mexico. Puckett has been an Artist-in-Residence at the Vermont Studio Center, Buffalo National River in Arkansas, and the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony in Woodstock, NY. Her work has been included in solo and group exhibitions both internationally and nationally. Group exhibitions include the Central Utah Art Center, Walsh Gallery at Seton Hall University, Humanities Gallery at Long Island University, and Jamaica Center for Art and Learning in New York. Puckett is a recipient of several National Endowment for the Arts project grants and was featured in the NYTimes online art blog.
