How can I communicate the experience of looking at a sublime landscape with an accumulation of gimmicks and offhanded painting tricks? People sometimes laugh because I refer to the lofty and grand while employing the stupid, the accidental, and the ready-made.
Christine Wang (1985-) was born in Washingon, D.C. She completed her B.F.A. at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Art and Science. Wang attended the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Mural Painting department for two semesters in 2006 and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in the summer of 2007. She lives and works in Brooklyn at the artist-run studio space Splinters and Logs.
