Carl James Ferrero
My work is made of the detritus of every day life, and throughout runs a melancholic narrative thread about the absurdity of being alive. The goal is the representation of experience, and I consider my art practice to be similar to a band covering a song—trying to make my own unique version of the familiar. The connective tissue of this body of work is language.
CJF was born in Vineland, NJ, a farming town, and he now resides in NYC. He received his MFA from Brooklyn College where he studied with Vito Acconci and Elizabeth Murray. His work has been exhibited at Artists Space, Envoy Enterprises, The Center for Book Arts, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, Kathleen Cullen Fine Arts and in “Metaphysics of Youth” in Pescara, Italy.
