Artist's Statement

Brand Us Art is the total collaboration of artistic partners and married couple, Phillip Martin and Theresa O’Neill. As a DJ samples and remixes musical pieces to create something new, our collaborative paintings transform and remix our lives through the making of art. Drawing from hip hop, music culture, art history, literature, vintage advertising and modern graphic aesthetics, we strive to convey a sense of drama and the poetry of existence. Our primary goal is to celebrate the history of greatness by creating of works of art that are accessible to multiple perspectives and interpretations. Our work can be seen at www.brandusart.com.

Bio/Resume

Phillip Martin and Theresa O'Neill have been working together as Brand Us Art for ten years.

Phillip was born in Kingston, Jamaica. As a young man, he moved to Dallas where he resided until accepting a soccer scholarship from UCLA. He now runs his own elite soccer training academy. Phillip has performed poetry extensively under the name PhillHarmoniC and is author of several books and co-author of the play, “BlakMen Can Think & WiteGrlz Can B Cool2.”

Theresa was born and raised in the Bay Area. She studied acting at UCLA and The American Conservatory Theatre and has appeared in numerous plays and films. She is co-author of the play, “BlakMen Can Think & WiteGrlz Can B Cool2.”
