Artist's Statement

My work is intended to address public awareness and encourage discussion about the relationship between individuals and their physical environment. Does our place of habitation shape our state of being? To what extent? I am fascinated to study the perceptions we hold that align us with mainstream vs. peripheral consciousness in the face of schematic frameworks. I continually explore the intersection of comfort, despair, place, and purpose. Ultimately, I hope the audience will find resonances of their own experience, values, and sense of belonging within my work. I hope my work can be a starting point for discussion about who we are and how we fit into a world that is both hopeful and alien. The audience is free to analyze and draw their own conclusions.
