My eye never sleeps. I work mainly from my own inner vision. I paint the abstract language of colors, forms, and shapes that my minds’ eye visualizes. I use bold colors to provoke a feeling or sensation that engages the viewer in an emotional exchange with the work.
My most recent series of paintings, DREAM FLASH, is rooted in introspection and memory, and transcends any natural representation. The paintings are an exploration of color and the physical properties of paint, with an expansive canvas to draw the viewer in. Chance and control are equally important as the paintings develop. Random chromatic events occur simultaneously with intentional control of the fluid acrylics.
