My relationship with photography is complicated and contradictory.
On one hand – it is a formal image, a simple technological process. On the other – a statement, a demonstration of identity.
In my process of communication with the world, photography takes an important role. One begins to think in visual abstractions – and becomes separated from the world by one’s camera.
In moments of heightened preoccupation with self, this presence of the camera in your mind can aggravate, but can also console – because on the other side of the lens is your entire world, harmonized by the frame which cuts off all excess. This is like a game, because the boundaries of the frame are abstract and not concrete – and the search for an image which follows your concept is also an abstraction.
