Artist's Statement
In my paintings of the past few years I layered circles to create a kind of lattice pattern. Recently these shapes have loosened up to be more gestural, showing an open grid, almost like fabric. I have always been interested in combining an expressionist tendency with a relatively minimalist appreciation of structure, and so my paintings join my interest in line with a wet-on-wet painting technique.

Anne Russinof is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and received an MFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. She has been a resident at the Yaddo
and Millay Art Colonies and shows her work on the East coast.
