Amy Chaiklin
Painting is my passion and feminism informs my multilayered imagery.
Inspired by Kiki Smith, I explore female mythology combining sex appeal and innocence.
Referencing Botticelli, I imbue my Goddesses with sensuality and strength.
As the symbolist Odilon Redon, I connect the earthly delights of flowers, butterflies, and
stars with the angels and fairies that I see beyond the visible.
Ever acknowledging the darkness of life, I choose to express the light,
as did Sonia Delaunay, with colors that are pure and bright.
