Artist's Statement

My work references the body and its quirks through a psychic language often expressed in knots, blobs, crystallizing textures, and repetition. Each disparate component looks as if it might have come from a hidden place beneath the skin. These excavations are poetic montages of the psychotic and erotic, as well as the beautiful and grotesque. Through lush, hallucinatory colors, the work bridges two and three dimensional, Pop, Surrealism, figurative, and abstract.
