The 2009 Warm Up season will go out with a bang, featuring the sounds of Rong Music with TBD (Lee Douglas & Justin Vandervolgen), Coati Mundi, DJ Spun, The Glenn Branca Ensemble, and Carlos Giffoni & Okkyung Lee.

Vandervolgen comprise Rong Music's newest DJ project, TBD. The
Brooklyn-based duo are an unlikely pair, boldly combining punk-funk with
dance-house to create a fresh sound that is unpredictable and psychedelic,
spontaneous and smooth.
Andy Hernandez a.k.a. Coati Mundi is a vivacious and prolific performer,
producer and composer hailing from Spanish Harlem. The eccentric autodidact is
best known as a vibraphonist, but is equally comfortable on the piano, flute
and various percussives. Hernandez has collaborated with many artists over his
four-decade musical career and has played in several bands, including Kid
Creole and the Coconuts and Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band.
Rong Music is the Disco/House label co-managed by Warm Up Curator Jason
Drummond, a.k.a. DJ Spun.
Experimental musician, composer, and guitarist Glenn Branca has
masterminded many an offbeat spectacle, perhaps the most notable of which was a
cacophonistic symphony for nine guitars played at full volume before an
audience that included the Queen of Denmark. He has performed and composed in a
number of noise, post-punk, and no wave groups in London,
Boston, and New York over the last four decades.
No-wave noisemaker Carlos Giffoni and improvisational cellist/composer Okkyung
Lee are familiar presences on the downtown experimental music scene.
Cacophony meets classicism in this ephemeral duet of contemporary noise icons.
