Hosted by Balance Recordings & NDATL, this edition of Warm Up kicks off the hottest month of summer with the sounds of Chez Damier (Chicago), House of House (Live/DJ, Whatever We Want NYC), Kai Alce (Atlanta) and Stars Like Fleas.
Chicago-born Anthony Pearson a.k.a. Chez Damier is a DJ, vocalist, producer and graphic artist known for spinning house music that is the deepest of deep. Described as soulful, influential and definitive, many of Damier's tracks have accrued anthem status in the house scene.
The New York City-based dance music duo of Saheer Umar and Olivier "Liv" Spencer channel classic New York and New Jersey Deep House in their "grandiose and soul-searing" audio project, House of House. Their sound harkens back to the great dance clubs of the seventies and eighties without sacrificing its contemporary edge.
This versatile New York native Kai Alce is known for his crowd-pleasing blends; a joyful, energetic flavor of deep house that overflows the dance floor with bodies and light.
Darting and dipping, crashing and strumming, the Brooklyn indie rock collective Stars Like Fleas creates a labyrinthine collage of sounds before your eyes. A fluctuating cast of multi-instrumentalists play any combination of synth, violin, guitar, laptop, harp, fiddle, banjo, flugelhorn, trumpet, percussives and/or cello.
