This week's edition of Warm Up features Alexi Delano (AD Music, NYC), Derek Plaslaiko (the Bunker/Specral, Queens), Tony Rohr, and Elliott Sharp's Carbon with Zeena Parkins, Marc Sloan, Joe Trump, and David Weinstein.
Born in Chile and raised in Sweden, DJ/ producer Alexi Delano has been creating a unique techno-house hybrid that combines minimalist influences with darker beats to keep crowds dancing around the globe.
With a versatile sound that is high energy and smooth, Detroit native Derek Plaslaiko has been dubbed "New York's Best Techno DJ" by the Village Voice.
Carbon is one of several sonic projects masterminded by New York avant-garde icon Elliott Sharp. From the darkest downtown dive to Lincoln Center, the on-stage creations of this multi-instrumentalist maverick are less genre-bending than they are genre-destroying--unapologetically and entrancingly so.
