E,e

The letter "E" is a pretty good one. It's the most commonly used letter in the English language, and that's kind of boring. It starts many great verbs, and I'm really into that. It's also an integral part of the word "eh," and is the first part of the prefix "eu-"

A few weeks ago I came up with some things that start with E: L'Eclisse Enya Ed Hardy [Experimental] dance party

E

Experimental can be a corny word, but dance party usually speaks for itself. L'Eclisse begins with an article and an apostrophe, but eclipse is one of the best words around, especially when pronounced in Italian. Enya happens to be a name beginning with "E," but means something else. Ed Hardy is a thing ostensibly led by the letter "E," and we're not really sure what it means yet.

Mårten Spångberg invited by Maria Hassabi

3:00–5:00 PM
Mini-Kunsthalle

In an hour long lecture/stand-up comedy, Mårten Spångberg will present his recent book Spangbergianism, a frontal assault on artistic practices and its relations to identity, ethics and markets. The Swedish choreographer aims from the hip, uses machine gun narration and writes a hilariously funny, poignant and perhaps even desperate book. "It's a book written in despair, a cry for help remixed into a war scream" as Spångberg himself said. Post-discussion moderated by André Lepecki.

ARTBOOK @ MoMA PS1 presents Lars Müller in conversation with Steven Holl

3:00–4:30 PM
Lobby

Considered one of America's most important architects, Steven Holl is recognized for his ability to blend space and light with great contextual sensitivity, and to utilize the unique qualities of each project to create a concept-driven design. Switzerland-based Lars Müller began publishing books in 1983 and has since published over 300 titles on typography, design, art, photography, and architecture. These two luminaries of architecture and design will engage in a conversation about their respective projects as well as the collaborative publishing process. Following the discussion, Holl will sign his two new publications, Steven Holl: Color Light Time and Steven Holl: Scale.
